Leslie Nielsen, the serious young actor who enjoyed far greater fame in a second career as a bumbling, older, comic actor in hits such as Airplane! and the Naked Gun series, has died from complications from pneumonia brought on while battling a staph infection. He was 84. [IMDB]
Whoa. Didn't see this coming. I was very shocked to open IMDB this morning and see that news flash. So sad. It's the end of an era. The last great spoof-master is gone, but his legacy will live on forever.

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for doing this tribute this morning. I was really sad to hear it this morning as well. He was a great funny actor. He will be greatly missed!

I almost had an aneurysm whenever I heard about his death. Makes me sad. But, his comedy will live on... Great tribute.
