Tempting Trailer: The Sound of Music

In this new segment we will be exploring the art of trailers. We'll show you ones you've never seen, classics from long ago, and we hope to share with you our appreciation for this artform that so effectively temps us into theatres.

First order of business, The Sound of Music (1965).

Oh my, how times have changed, a trailer like that now-a-days would certainly be a flop. I find it played out more like an informercial, feature such songs as....
...and if you are one of the first 30 people to see this movie, you'll get half off of popcorn, that's right a half off! That's a savings of over 7 cents!
Not nearly enough Nazi's in the preview either; the trailer almost makes it seem like the music is the what the movie is all about.
Classic movie.
