With the succes of Walk The Line, it was only a matter of time before filmmakers found another dead musician to make a movie about.Williams grew up poor in Alabama, and rocketed to country music fame with his catchy tunes. He suffered from spina bifida and became an alcohol and morphine user for the pain. He died at age 29 in 1953 in the back of a Cadillac, en route to a show in Ohio.
His life story has all the makings of a great biopic - a poor childhood, rise to fame, substance abuse problems, rocky relationships, a tragic and mysterious death...
821 Entertainment Group and Strike Entertainment are the ones creating the movie, and are said to have obtained the rights to all of Williams' songs for use in the film.
Who's gonna play Hank? Whoever it is, they can probably start polishing the Oscar.
