Dr. Weir: Right. Well, um, using layman's terms... Use a retaining magnetic field to focus a narrow beam of gravitons - these, in turn, fold space-time consistent with Weyl tensor dynamics until the space-time curvature becomes infinitely large, and you produce a singularity. Now, the singularity...
Miller: "Layman's terms?!"
Cooper: Well, fuck layman's terms! Do you speak English?

I was just talking about this movie with a friend of mine. She said she is not looking forward to "Avatar" because she doesn't like "any Sci-Fi movies because they go well beyond the realm of realism. "I then asked her if she has ever seen Event Horizon because it's one of the greatest Sci-Fi space movies ever created. She then said 'Event what?' To which case i asked her if she has seen 'Space Odyssey 2001'... a blank look on her face.. poor deprived child.
I'm always totally surprised that so many people never saw, or even heard of "Event Horizon."
I loved that movie and it scared the crap out of me!
A question: Don't you think Sam Neill would have made a better James Bond, than many of the 1000 other actors who got the role?
Pat - this movie scared the crappers out of us too! Totally underrated as a sci-fi film.
And YES! In his younger years, Sam Neill would have been an amazing Bond!
This link goes to a post on my blog. Another scary sci-fi flick. You might think its interesting.
