The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn

Yes, ANOTHER classic from our childhoods (well, some of us) is coming to the silver screen!

Jamie Bell will star as the title character in the 2011 film The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn.

The film will be done in motion capture animation! AND 3D! This could be amazers! With Steven Spielberg directing, Peter Jackson producing, and John Williams scoring, how could this be bad?

Tintin and his friends discover directions to a sunken ship commanded by Capt. Haddock's ancestor and go off on a treasure hunt. [IMDB]

Oh Lordy Loo, I love me a good treasure hunt! Giddy up!

And to make things even more exciting, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost both have major roles in the film as bumbling detectives Thompson and Thomson! As well as our late 80s fave Cary Elwes! Andy Serkis (Gollum from LOTR) will be playing Captain Haddock, and Daniel Craig is playing a pirate.

Wowz.

In researching the film, I found that Peter Jackson was the one to suggest the motion capture style, knowing full-well that live action would not do the classic comics and cartoons justice. We think he made the right choice.

Personally I just can't wait to see Jamie Bell with that classic flipped hairstyle. But I wonder... will they have accents? Cuz we all know Tintin and friends are total Frenchies. Oui oui, hon hon.

Mille Milliards de Mille Sabords!!

I am exited very well! LOL

Wow, I've been waiting for something like this for a long time. I've been a huge fan of Tintin since I was but a lad. They made some Tintin movies a while back, in French of course, but I'm intrigued with the credits for this one. YAHOO!
