Oops - Steve Carell Makes The Same Movie Twice.

Crazy, Stupid, Love, coming in 2011 is a comedy that sounds way too familiar.

A father's life unravels while he deals with a marital crisis and tries to manage his relationship with his children. [IMDB]

Steve Carell stars as this yet-unnamed father with family problems. Gee, why do I know this already? Oh yeah... Dan In Real Life (2007) stared Carell as a widower who was trying to find his dating spark again while dealing with his three daughters who weren't exactly getting along with him.

We get it Steve - you excel at playing loveable losers who tug on our heart strings but still make us laugh.

Don't get me wrong - we love him and we love these softer roles - but really... he must have read the script and went, "Oh I'll have to pass because I already made this movie. Ah screw it, it's a paycheck."

For real, I'm being mean, but I love Steve Carell. And shit, I'll watch this movie and probably love it.

Emma Stone will star as his daughter, Ryan Gosling as her love interest, and Julianne Moore as what will most likely become Steve's character's love-love.

Other notable cast members include Marisa "I showed my tits in The Wrestler" Tomei and Kevin "I heart full-frontal male nudity" Bacon.

Thoughts?

Yeah that bugs me when the same actor continuously does the same role over & over again. Maybe he felt like he didn't do Dan in the real life justice & needs to do it again to improve? hmmm...I'll wait til its on USA to see the new one!

Just saw Dinner For Schmucks. He was great in it. But again, he plays an idiot, albeit a more reckless idiot but an idiot nonetheless. Didn't he say in an interview that he had cornered the market when it comes to playing an idiot? I don't think America is ready for Steve Carell to be anything other than an idiot or a loser (or a combination of the two). Did Marisa Tomei legally change her middle name to "I showed my tits in the Wrestler"? Just wondering...

I loved Dan In real Life, but I agree with Melanie. I hate when actors decide to stick with a similar storyline in all of their movies. It's like they're scared of change.

If it meant a big pay cheque in the mail, i think i would re-do a movie too! Maybe he had all sorts of lines that after filming he was like "ahhh, i totally should have said that..." Well now he can... now he can.

Besides, i'm pretty sure Michael Cera has never changed his role in any movie... and yet he keeps making movies.
