Randy's Got A Fan In Us

Last night we had the extreme pleasure of going to see Randy Newman live, here in Ottawa! We got a taste of all his classics, and since his songs are 2 minutes a piece, we got about 40 of 'em!

Not only was his in-between banter hilarious, making fun of himself for being an old fart and joking that all his songs sound the same, but some of the tunes we'd never heard before turned out to be bloody brilliant.

For example, we didn't know this one but you might:

We hadn't realized he was a satirical genius! For example, this puppy that we recognized from the Blast From The Past (1999) soundtrack.

This beaute from the You've Got Mail (1998) sountrack made us smile big time.

And of course we peed our pants when he broke out this one:

Of course Randy's known for more than soundtrack tunes, but that's what we love him for. Our brains go right to movies. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Anyways, we love you Randy. You're awesome. Don't wait 25 more years before coming back to Ottawa!

I've never wanted to be you more in than I do right now. (Well, I guess I wanted to be you last night, not right now, but you're picking up what I'm putting down.)

Uber-Jealous.
