A little more from Wikipedia: It was originally intended as the sequel to the 2010 film, Valentine's Day, but on December 8, 2010 it was revealed that the film would not be a sequel to Valentine's Day and that Jessica Biel and Ashton Kutcher would play different characters.The film is scheduled for release on December 9, 2011 in North America by Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema
Ya, ya, it's another Rom-Com, but whatevs! It's got a great cast, and we really can't get enough of the 'multiple plot following 20different peeps who we think aren't connected, but somehow always cross paths and lots of lessons of love and life to be learned' style of film. Good stuff. Can't wait!

It also sounds a bit like "200 Cigarettes". Wasn't that set on New Year's Eve and about a host of different characters' stories? I think so!
