Peep World is an upcoming film I stumbled across on Wikipedia and thought I'd share cuz it sounded cool.
On the day of their father's 70th birthday party, four siblings come to terms with the publication of a novel written by the youngest sibling that exposes the family's most intimate secrets.
Ohhhh SNAP! Family drama gone public! Closeted skeletons run amock! Love it! It really strikes me as a dark comedy, and I get the impression it will fly under the radar, an Indie wonder, not really go anywhere, but I'll love it anyway. That's right, I can predict all of that from one synopsis sentence. I'm THAT good. Plus it was the official selection of the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival, so that gives it SOME cred.
The siblings in the film are played by Michael C. "Dexter" Hall, (we don't see much of him in films, so I'm jazzed), Rainn "Schrute" Wilson, Judy "I always play the friend" Greer, and Sarah "whines-a-lot" Silverman. It's a good group to portray troubled, neurotic siblings.
It kinda reminds me of The Royal Tennenbaums, if ya know what I mean. Or more recently, Death at a Funeral, in which family related shenanigans abound. Some other great names in the cast list include Taraji P. Henson, comedian Lewis Black as the narrator, and the guy you've seen a lot but didn't know his name - Ron Rifkin, as the father. I personally know him best as the Rabbi in the overlooked rom-rom Keeping The Faith (2000) and as the guy who drops trou in the closet at Vogue in Sex and the City.
No release date has been set for Peep World, but I'll keep my eye out for it... at the rental plaace.
What do you think of this one? Does it intrigue you? What do you think of the not-so-obvious casting choices?

How DARE you sully the good name of Sarah Silverman!
come oooonnn. you know she sounds whiney all the time. she's funny, but whiney! plus she's f*cking Matt Damon...
Topical. You always know how to win back my heart.
I forgive you, but will continue to save myself for Sarah Silverman.
Not to slam anybody's hopes, but i saw this one at TIFF this year and it didn't exactly bowl me over...certainly not the way a cast like that should.
It's cute, and has a good line here or there, but for me it turned out rather forgettable.
Judy Greer and I am in :). You guys know that I love her(in a non sexual way)
MC - you've just added more fuel to the fire of my dislike of Sarah.
Mad Hatter - that's cool that you got to see it! definitely looks cute, which is why it will be a rental, not a cinema watch. haha
