The Cutting Edge: A Classic Review

TOE PICK!

What happens when a former NHL prospect and professional figure skater join forces to compete in the figure skating Nationals and the Olympics with a seemingly short time to prepare?

A hilarious early 90s gem. That's what.

Doug Dorsey sees his dream of Olympic success shattered by an unexpected injury. Kate Moseley, a spoiled and tempermental young lady just can't seem to keep a skating partner around long enough to get her second chance at the gold. Dorsey is brought in as a potential partner for Kate (complete nonsense but very enjoyable) due to his 'rough around the edges' demeanor and his assumed competitive drive.

Turns out they were right about their hunch! A hockey player can be transformed into a figure skater, no problemo!

Movie buffs get ready. This one's chalk full of montages and cheap budget goodness. Straight-to-DVD sequels continue to be made. The Cutting Edge lives on 17 years later! Doesn't that say something?!

Find it. Watch it. You'll love it.
