Little Ashes

Well, talk about breaking out of the heart-throb persona. Well done Rob.

No longer wanting to be lusted after by 13-year-olds, Robert Pattinson of the Twilight Empire has taken on some pretty edgy roles.

In the film Little Ashes, Pattinson portrays a young Salvidor Dali, who while studying art in Spain, begins a steamy affair with fellow artist Federico GarcĂa Lorca. Oooooh scandalous!

The Twi-hards are weeping into their Edward Cullen pillowcases as we speak. As much as we loved his dark, brooding vampire, we definitely saw past the hunka-hunka-walking dead. We knew immediately this boy had some skillz. It was also obvious by the way he acted so incredibly uncomfortable with the heart-throb status that he would soon break out of it.

We make a prediction. We see an Oscar in Pattinson's future. He will follow in the footsteps of Leonardo DiCaprio, being the teen-bop centrefold for awhile, then getting down to serious business.

We're aware this movie is already out, but hey... it's new to us. Can't wait for the DVD release so we can shed a few little tears over losing a small piece of Edward Cullen.

I watched it on youtube and I was well a little surprised at some of the scenes. I caught myself saying wt? I also saw "The Bad Mother's Handbook", which I perceived was another teen movie and therefore catagorized him as being a teen movie actor. But watching Little Ashes I think that puts Mr. Pattinson in a VERY different light at least in mine eyes.

Um not sure if he was trying for the accent but I couldn't hear one at one. Wat a move from teen movies though.
