A Little Monday Review

CinemaObsessed.com hit up the drive-in again. Good times, good times. So we have to talk about a few things with you Cin-Obs out there!

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Yes, we finally saw it. We just HAD to see the biggest summer blockbuster in theatres... couldn't let that one pass us by.

And it was amazing! We weren't prepared for the amount of sci-fi in it, but we loved it anyway. It was like modern-day warfare, with futuristic (yet somehow realistic) gadgets thrown in.

And yes we know the reviews weren't great, but sometimes critics need to get their snobby heads out of their asses and just enjoy a movie for what it is. Yes, it had some corny dialogue and American military propaganda... so what. The effects were great, the storyline was interesting and even pulled a twist on us that we didn't expect!

See it in theatres while you can!

Dance Flick

If you know us at all, you know we looooves us a good spoof. And this one finally got back to the basics of the spoof-genre. No more Jack Sparrow breakdancing, no more random Britney Spears appearance.s Just the basic elements of dance movies thrown in all together for hilarity. This movie definitely had its own little plot (obviously derived from the films it's lampooning), and the dancing was actually fun to watch!

The script was well-written for a comedy, and we got a hilarious cameo by David Alan Grier in a fat suit... one of the most hilarious fat-suit characters we've ever seen.

We even got an amazing cameo from Amy Sedaris as the dance instructor, Ms. Camel ToƩ. She wears lots of spandex. If you don't get it, you'll just have to see the movie.

And Kudos to Damon Wayans Jr, the star of the movie, who will obviously be taking the reigns on the Wayans Bros. comedies from now on. And we're pretty sure he did most of his own dancing, which makes us heart him even more!

It's 'back to basics' for spoofs. We are tired of random pop culture references, we prefer when spoofs stick to referencing the actual movies they are spoofing. Did you see Dance Flick?
