The Tempest X2

Oooooh TWO new adaptations of Shakespeare's The Tempest are coming to the big screen! One a literal adaptation, one a teen version of the classic play!

The serious version will star Helen Mirren, David Strathairn, Djimon Hounsou, Alan Cumming, Alfred Molina, Russell Brand, Ben Whishaw and Felicity Jones.

Prospera (Mirren) is usurped by her brother and sent off with her four-year-old daughter on a ship. She ends up on an island; it's a tabula rasa: no society, so the mother figure becomes a father figure to Miranda. This leads to the power struggle and balance between Caliban (Hounsou) and Prospera; a struggle not about brawn, but about intellect. (Wikipedia)

The teeny-bop version is about kids in school who are staging the play, and we assume the ups and downs of their lives as they try to produce the play. The actors in the movie are all no-names, this being their first project.
