Ramona and Beezus

Beverly Cleary's classic children's book is coming to the big screen!

We've pretty much loved every kids book turned movie... example: The Brave Little Toaster (1987), The Babysitter's Club (1995), The Jungle Book (1994), Matilda (1996), Harriet the Spy (1996), Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971/2005), etc etc.

That could go on forever.

Anyways, Disney pop-tart Selena Gomez will be Beezus and Joey King (a relatively unknown child actress) will be playing Ramona.

The girls' parents will be played by John Corbett (remember? He was the dude in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, 2002) and Bridget Moynahan as the mum. Funny, both of them had pretty large roles in Sex and the City (the series, not the film). And actually both of them got pretty screwed over by Carrie. ANYWAYS I'm digressing into TV... let's get back on track.

In Ramona and Beezus we'll also see Sandra "I'm Canadian" Oh, Josh "I heart strippers" Duhamel, and Ginnifer "not Jennifer" Goodwin.

Sounds like a cutesy cast, and we're hoping they do these classic kid's books justice. Catch the feuding sisters in theatres on March 10, 2010.
