Tantalizing Trivia: Hellboy

David Hyde Pierce voiced the character Abe Sapien in the first Hellboy film, and Doug Jones played the physical role. The filmmakers wanted to use Pierce's name to promote the film, but Pierce felt the character was not his, but actually entirely the work of Jones. He refused any credit, did no promotions for the film, did no interviews, and didn't even attend the premiere.

Obviously, he did not return for the sequel, and Jones voiced the character himself.
