Private Benjamin Remake Starring Anna Faris

JoBlo.com (among many other movie news outlets) is reporting that Anna Faris will star in an upcoming remake of the 1980 Goldie Hawn comedy, Private Benjamin!

What's with Goldie's movies being remade? First Overboard, now this! Geeez Hollywood is totally running on fumes at this point. Where's the originality?

Anyways, PB follows a young widow who joins the military and gets into all kinds of shenanigans. The original was a huge hit at the time, but we're wondering if Faris can pull it off. As much as she is one of our favourite comediennes working right now, she's kinda always the same character... with the pouty lips and glazed over eyes. The act is getting a little stale.

Oooh guess what? After my lengthy research (I'm a pro) I notice that Faris' next project is called Golddigging 101. Goldie - Golddigging... coincidence? I think not! Probably.

What else can we expect to be re-hashed from Goldie's resumé?

Death Becomes Her - Starring Evan Rachel Wood
Housesitter - Starring Hilary Duff
First Wives Club - Starring Anne Hathaway

Oh God, I shoulda shut my mouth, because I mighta just given someone some bad ideas.

I am not a fan of Anna Faris's choice in roles, with the exception of "Waiting" where she actually got to play someone who had two brain cells to rub together.

I think that some remakes are good. But most of them are bad.

Hollywood should give me a call. I have ideas.

Agreed, Katrina! We think Anna's capable of a lot more!
