Tantalizing Trivia: Corpse Bride

The skeleton song and dance scene in Corpse Bride (2005) was inspired by a 1929 Disney short.



Danny Elfman claims he wrote the songs for Mr. Bonejangles in hopes of finding just the right singer to play the part, but when he was unable to find someone he reluctantly took the part for himself.

Pffftt... I have a hard time believing this. Just admit it Elfie, you wrote the part for yourself. Obviously you knew exactly what voice went with the character. Let's drop this charade of "we tried so hard to find someone!" After your amazing vocal performance in The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) I find it hard to believe that you didn't want to jump all over this one from the start.
