Magic 8 Ball Movie

NY Mag is reporting on an upcoming film that caught our eye. This is the perfect follow up to our Monopoly movie post.

Magic 8 Ball. Yep. Someone actually thought this would be a good idea. Now, the only way this will work is if it's done as a total fantasy film. Maybe in the style of The Butterfly Effect. Someone asks the ball a question, and the yes/no/maybe/try again sucks the asker into a parallel universe to see the possibilities of their question. (Why I'm not getting paid for this, I'll never know)

Tom Shadyac (the brilliant mind behind some of our favies like Bruce Almighty, Accepted, Patch Adams, Liar Liar, I could go on...) was initially attached to this project (but not no more), and it will apparently be a rom-com. Hmmm ok. Does she love me? *shake shake* NO. The end.

Since we don't have too many details, all we can say is the studio should call us, because we have ideas out the ying-yang.

So if you want more info on this upcoming flick, all I can say is *shake shake* ASK AGAIN LATER.

I'll see anything now that's not a remake!! I have the optimum online card so I get free moves on Tuesday! I still have my magic 8 ball. I might give this a whirl!

Hey! Write a post about this... Adam McKay tweeted:

'So bummed. Paramount basically passed on Anchorman 2. Even after we cut our budget down. We tried.'

and

'To all who asked: no we can't do Anchorman 2 at another studio. Paramount owns it.'

So we must ask ourselves.... Why would the studios choose to make a Magic 8 Ball movie, when they can make Anchorman 2?
