Conviction: A Depressingly Inspiring True Story

Ooooh I'm excited! Let me tell you why... I just read that Mr.Sam Rockwell and Ms. Hilary Swank will be starring in the upcoming true story drama, Conviction. Now, I usually gravitate toward comedy or sci-fi, but I have a really good feeling about this one!

Now I could make award winning predictions, but honestly, Hilary Swank could take a dump and they would give her best lead female in a shitting role. Ya know? Anyhoo. The acting will be phenomenal and I'll shed many tears, I'm sure. Here's the plot summary:

Conviction is the inspirational true story of a sister's unwavering devotion to her brother. When Betty Anne Waters' (two-time Academy® Award winner Hilary Swank) older brother Kenny (Sam Rockwell) is arrested for murder and sentenced to life in 1983, Betty Anne, a Massachusetts wife and mother of two, dedicates her life to overturning the murder conviction. Convinced that her brother is innocent, Betty Anne puts herself through high school, college and, finally, law school in an 18 year quest to free Kenny. With the help of best friend Abra Rice (Academy Award nominee Minnie Driver), Betty Anne pours through suspicious evidence mounted by small town cop Nancy Taylor (Academy Award nominee Melissa Leo), meticulously retracing the steps that led to Kenny's arrest. Belief in her brother - and her quest for the truth - pushes Betty Anne and her team to uncover the facts and utilize DNA evidence with the hope of exonerating Kenny. ComingSoon.net

Man. Depressing, right? But also totally inspiring. Ang - if you ever got put away in the slammer I would fight for you. I'd go get my law degree and rewatch all my favie scenes of lawyers delivering 'closing arguments' and moving speeches. I'd visit you everyday and bring you popcorn and give you detailed descriptions of movies I've seen and then re-enact them for you in front of your cell.

Here's the trailer. It'll move you. It'll inspire you. It'll make you hope to God you're never wrongly accused:

Wow even the trailer made me kind of teary. But I totally want to see this. Plus come on. Sam Rockwell? Who wouldn't? :)

I hope my siblings never have to rely on ME to save their ass. I'd be useless in a court room. I'd either be belligerent or I'd burst into tears and start begging.

Thanks, Chanty! I appreciate that. But don't worry, I cover up my tracks well so I'll never be put away. I mean, uh... I don't commit crimes of any kind. Ahh shoot. Can I request a re-enactment from Avatar?

Ang, Avatar is second on the list, right under Fifth Element... I bought the blue body paint and a giant octopus to put on my head.

I just realized how obsessed we are with blue peeps... Diva, Smurfs, Na'vi... WTF?!
