Fright Night Remake... The Vampire Craze Continues...

A remake of Fright Night (1985)? Really? Well... Aiiight, we're in!

Charlie is a teen convinced that his new neighbor (Colin Farrell) is a vampire. Toni Collette plays the teen's disbelieving mom, who falls under the vampire's spell. Peter Vincent (David Tennant) is a Las Vegas magician whose show revolves around horror-movie imagery. Vincent claims to be a vampire expert, but when the teen turns to him for assistance, he's less than helpful.

Evil Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) is Charlie's friend who feels slighted that Charlie has left his nerdy past behind and thus joins the vampire's coven. Wikipedia

While we often rag on Hollywood for churning out remakes and sequels, you can ususally find us in the theater opening night. What can we say - we're movie whores.

Anton Yelchin is set to star as Charley Brewster in this upcoming comedy/horror. We recently got to know Anton in his role as Chekov in the new Star Trek (2009). He is super cool in our books and we're excited to see what he does as Charley. We're sure he won't disappoint!

What do you guys think? Are you sick of the vampire premise? Do you think this movie deserves a remake? Will you see it?

I didn't think that the first 'Fright Night' was all that. I probably won't see this one.
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO over vampire stuff. Thanks a lot Stephanie Meyer!!! (yeah I blame her)

Anton is adorable, and Colin is hot so I'm there.

AHHHHHHHHH! That was a scream of despair, not of excitement.

Is this what movies have become: remakes of older movies that were terrible to begin with? I mean, before long, they'll be remaking the movies that need to be completely left alone, like Beetlejuice, Ferris Bueller, and The Shining (again).

I don't think I can take any more remakes. Is it just me, or does someone smell a writer's strike brewing?

I'm a big fan of the original, yet I'm pretty interested in this one. The cast is excellent, and writer/director Craig Gillepsie seems to have some talent. I'll give it a shot, it can't be the worst horror remake of late.

SRSLY? jeezzz.

I'm too much of a fan of the Original to see this. And being a Child of Dracula and Interview, it's hard to get excited about all this new, vampire stuff.

I totally had a crush on Fright Night's Chris Sarandon...

sidenote: charlie's girlfriend was Marcy from Married with Children
