Striking Similarity: Catatonic Woman Deja Vu

Wow. If you didn't think we were sick with THIS Striking Similarity, you will now...

Let us introduce you to Alice Drummond. You may not recognize the name, but you do know her. We promise. She played Lucy in Awakenings (1990) and Clara in To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar (1995). She basically always plays an old lady.

We're comparing these two glorious roles today. In both flicks, Alice played a woman coming out of a non-verbal, catatonic state. What is that about?!

Exhibit A:

Alice as Clara in To Wong Foo:

Exhibit B:

Alice as Lucy in Awakenings (1990)

How weird is that? And in both movies, she snaps out of it and becomes the cutest little granny you ever did see. Another important note - both characters are obsessed with the past, Clara being stuck on movies of the 20s, and Lucy being mentally stuck in 1926 due to her coma-state.
