Green Lantern Trailer
We haven't given an update on this flick in a while, so here we go.
The trailer for Green Lantern has been released, and we can see sexy rexy Canadian Ryan Reynolds in full Lantern attire. Lovin' it!
Some people are diggin' this trailer, and some people are upset with Ryan's funnyman antics, saying he's playing it too lightly and always going for the laugh. We see nothing wrong with that, but I guess those that are faithful to the source material might take issue with it.
Also, as per usual, we get to see him shirtless. BONUS!
Keep your eyes peeled for the villain with the giant forehead. Whoa.
How do you feel about the CGI-ish suit?

Memorable Monologue: Superman Returns
"You will travel far, my little Kal-El, but we will never leave you-even in the face of our deaths. You will make my strength your own. You will see my life through your eyes, as your life will be seen through mine. The son becomes the father. And the father, the son."

Emma Stone's a Busy Gal!
Thanks to a tip from Cin-Ob The Masked Critic about Stone's involvement with the Spidey reboot, we thought we'd check out Emma's other upcoming projects.
So firstly, Emma was rumoured to be playing Mary-Jane in the prequel (of sorts) Spiderman flick. A little googling tells us it's been announced officially - she'll be playing Gwen Stacy, a previous Peter Parker love interest (played by Bryce Dallas Howard in Spiderman 3). That sounds more legitimate, since I don't think anyone would believe Emma as a young Kirsten Dunst. But I highly doubt that's what they're going for, since - interesting tidbit - the new Peter Parker will be played by Andrew Garfield, who recently starred in The Social Network. These aren't exactly look-alikes to the original cast, so I assume they're just starting over, so to speak.
The film is supposed to be released in July 2012, but with all the trouble the film had getting off the ground, I wouldn't hold your breath.
Emma Stone is also rumoured to be participating in the new 21 Jump Street movie, also coming in 2012. Other possible cast-mates include Jonah Hill, and no-names Jason Sheppard (you don't know him, trust me), Zef Balbona (awesome name, don't know him, but he looks like a Cullen), and Harry Cook (who?).
An undercover police unit consisting of young looking officers infiltrate high schools to control youth crime [IMDB]
I'll watch this movie, although I didn't really watch the show. I'll just be hoping J-Depp makes a cameo. God knows he won't cuz he's too busy being cool over in France to relive his youth a little bit. Ok that's unfair, I have no idea if he'll show up for a cameo. But you know who will? Richard Grieco. He's not up to much these days.

Memorable Monologue: The Dark Knight
"Tonight you're all gonna be part of a social experiment. Through the magic of diesel fuel and ammonium nitrate, I'm ready right now to blow you all sky high. Anyone attempts to get off their boat, you all die. Each of you has a remote... to blow up the other boat. At midnight, I blow you all up. If, however, one of you presses the button, I'll let that boat live. So, who's it going to be: Harvey Dent's most wanted scumbag collection, or the sweet and innocent civilians? You choose... oh, and you might want to decide quickly, because the people on the other boat might not be so noble."

RED - In Which Old Actors Play CIA Agents
Red, coming in October of this year, stars Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, Morgan Freeman, Mary-Louise Parker, and many other awesome names that I'm too lazy to type.
Here! Copy and paste is the solution. Here's Summit Entertainment's press release:
Red is the story of Frank Moses (Willis), a former black-ops CIA agent, who is now living a quiet life. That is, until the day a hi-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. With his identity compromised and the life of the woman he cares for, Sarah (Parker), endangered, Frank reassembles his old team (Freeman, Malkovich and Mirren) in a last ditch effort to survive. [Wikipedia]
Firstly, I still have a crush on Brucey, and second - I'll see anything with John Malkovich in it. And as a cherry on top we get to see The Queen Helen Mirren whoop some ass. Never thought I'd say that in a post. But you see, anything can happen in Hollywoodville.
Now, I will admit this has the potential for being a flippin' flop, a box office bomb, a stinking pile of embarassment for the actors involved, but I also think it has the potential to be enjoyable. Obviously they'll go for shock value - old people doing extreme stunts, and the standard "I'm getting too old for this" schtick, but meh - I'll see it.
Will you?

Avengers Cast Revealed at Comic-Con!
The cast of the hyped out Avengers movie was revealed over the weekend at Comic-Con. Gawd I wish I could attend. I would probably just take one look around and pass out into a puddle of nerdiness. In a good way though.
Samuel L. Jackson (who is reprising his role of Nick Fury), announced the cast to the geekarific crowd.
We've got:
Chris Evans ... Steve Rogers / Captain America
Chris Hemsworth ... Thor
Robert Downey Jr. ... Tony Stark / Iron Man
Mark Ruffalo ... Bruce Banner / The Incredible Hulk
Scarlett Johansson ... Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow
Jeremy Renner ... Clint Barton / Hawkeye
Samuel L. Jackson ... Nick Fury
Tom Hiddleston ... Loki
Now, a lot of this we already knew, but this announcement confirmed the rumor of M-Ruff as Hulk! What are your thoughts on this cast? Will you be checking it out in 2012?

Captain America Poster Art!
Enjoy some poster art released from Captain America: The First Avenger, coming in July 2011!
Wow, that's some epic shit right there. Look at him... the only colour in a dark scary world, defending stuff with his shiny shield. GO AMERICA! YOU ARE SO AWESOME!
Here's what IMDB says about the plot:
Based on the Marvel Comics character from World War II. A brave, yet mild-mannered young soldier named Steve Rogers, volunteers to undergo a series of experiments for a US army Super Soldier program. The military succeeds in transforming him into a human weapon, but quickly decide that their Super Soldier is far too expensive a creation to risk in combat. So, they decide to put him to use as an army celebrity and parade him across Europe to boost morale by performing in USO shows for American troops. He is even given a costume that bear the colors of Old Glory for the stage. Then, when a Nazi plot reveals itself Rogers must rise up and and become the First Avenger, in order to save his country. Steve Rogers becomes Captain America and he earns his way into the hearts and souls of every American, bringing hope and justice to a war-weary nation. Later, during a mission to Germany to stop his archenemy - The Red Skull, from launching rockets at the allies, Captain America sacrifices himself and winds up frozen in ice for almost six decades! Revived, Steve Rogers now must join forces with new heroes and become an Avenger of the modern age.
Yikes, that's a lot of info. Personally I prefer my synopsis in one sentence - Super hot super-human guy defends America in tight suit. That's all I need to know right there. Just kidding, my tastes are more discerning than that. What I REALLY need to know is - does he sing and dance?

In Today's Green News...
Here we have Canadian heart-throb Ryan Reynolds in costume for his role in The Green Lantern, coming in 2011. Ooooh evil stare and skin tight outfit! Love it lotsly.
Here we have Seth Rogen and Jay Chou on set of Rogen's new action flick The Green Hornet, also coming in 2011.
Here they are again, experimenting with what will probably be our hero's vehicle.
And it looks BADASS!
And now Christoph Waltz as the baddie in The Green Hornet, Chudnofsky, with a giant mofo gun. That was a great description wasn't it? I'M LAZY! Use your eyes!
And let's not forget the rumours flying all over the internet about Mark Ruffalo as the new HULK in the upcoming Avengers movie! So far it's just speculation, but he's apparently at the top of a short list to play the green machine we know and love. It's not the weirdest choice. I mean, Edward Norton played the Hulk, so it's not like it HAS to be some macho action star. Norton's kinda prissy, so I don't see why Ruffs couldn't do it! Isn't that the whole point? He goes from normal guy to CRAZY GREEN WACKO! RAAAWWWR!!!

"I'll be honest, there wasn't a whole lot of crime-fighting in those first few weeks. But even so, my new vocation kept me plenty busy. I called it preparation. But if you called it fantasizing, it would've been hard to argue. All I knew was, I never felt so good about myself."

Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the Riddler in new Batman??
CinemaBlend.com (among others) is reporting that JGL will be playing that wacky madman, The Riddler, in the new Batman film! And apparently he has been identified as director Christopher Nolan's first choice!
Now this is only rumours at this point, but we think it could be a great fit for him. Have we mentioned how happy we are Jo-Go is making a comeback? He disappeared for a while, but we were giddy to see him in 500 Days of Summer and G.I. Joe! And due to his role in G.I. Joe, we know he can totally play a mad scientist dude.
Interesting tidbit here - One of Joseph's first leading man roles was in that 1999 teen classic, 10 Things I Hate About You. Heath Ledger had a big break in that film as well, and went on to play The Joker in The Dark Knight (2008). Teen stars turned Batman villains. COINCIDENCE? Yeah probably.
Do you think Joseph Gordon-Levitt would make a good Riddler? Do you have any other preferences for this role?

Memorable Monologue: Daredevil
"Violence doesn't discriminate. It hits all of us... the rich, the poor, the healthy, the sick. It comes as cold and bracing as a winter breeze off the Hudson. Until it sinks into your bones... leaving you with a chill you can't shake. They say there's not rest for the wicked. But what about the good? The battle of Good vs. Evil is never-ending... because evil always survives... with the help of evil men. As for Daredevil, well... soon the world will know the truth. That this is a city born of heroes, that one man CAN make a difference."

Colourful Cameo: Stan Lee in Fantastic Four
It's time for another Colourful Cameo!
As all us movie buffs know, Mr. Stan Lee, comic book god, always makes an appearance in the film adaptations of his work. The man can't act for shite, but ya gotta give him props for his life's work. Pretty impressive resumé, dude. You've created a ton of iconic characters!
So here is Mr. Lee in Fantastic Four (2005) as the mailman. He even gets a speaking role. Woooowww! I guess he owns the rights to all this stuff so he gets to talk if he wants to. I must say though, this cameo is better than his appearance in the second FF movie in which he actually identifies himself as Stan Lee. Cheeeesey! But that's neither here nor there, because I'll be showcasing that particular cameo in the near future.
I'm off track now. Great. Anyways, here is his 5 second bit part in Fantastic Four!
