The Last Airbender

This one actually looks interesting! The Last Airbender is M. Night Shyamalan's next project, slotted for release on July 2, 2010.

This movie is based on a television series which follows different tribes of people in a magical world, who can control the elements. The fire benders, water benders, etc. The Last Airbender focuses on.. well... the last airbender. Duh.

Although the concept is a little wacky, we think it could be great. It will combine mythology, martial arts and various fighting styles. Plus M. Night is bound to make a great film. And we don't think this is one where we will be trying to predict the twist the whole time. I think Night learned his lesson.

Dev Patel, of Slumdog Millionaire, has joined the cast, as well as yummy Jackson Rathbone (Jasper of Twilight). Oooooh we think this will DEFINITELY be watchable.

Even though The Last Airbender is based on anime, we're willing to overlook that fact and enjoy the film. We'll give it a shot. Hell, we here at Cinema Obsessed give everything a shot.
