Why wasn't this projected started YEARS ago???

We saw Wicked on Broadway last year, and it was sooo enjoyable. Some dark comedy, amazing contemporary music, lots of bright colours. Let's just say we clapped our hands and squealed a lot.

Imdb.com is reporting that this movie is FINALLY in the works, with a tentative release set for 2010. I think that's being optimistic, but at least the seed has been planted in some movie-maker's brain. Duh! This will make money! Anyone who saw it on the stage is gonna see the movie! Take a lesson from the book of Mamma Mia!.

So, the original Broadway leads of Kristin Chenoweth (Glinda - good) and Idina Menzel (Elphaba - wicked) are said to be reprising their roles. Eeeeeek! Who better than the best? Yay!

We'll update on this one as production moves along and more cast members are revealed.
