Jurassic Park (1993) sure is a classic. It was the pioneer of animatronics, CGI, and even some sound effects. In fact, it scared the crappers out of me so bad when I saw it in theatres (at age 7) that I had to leave. Thanks for taking me to see it, Dad. Scarred for life! Just kidding, I'm cool now.As technologically advanced as this movie was at the time, there were still some flubs when it came to certain details (other than the fact that we can't bring back dinosaurs from mosquitos).
The scene shown below, if you think back, portrayed the tech guy Dennis supposedly having a live conversation with some dude on the dock. Now that movie-goers are more tech-savvy, we can spot that the 'streaming video' (as we would call it today) is actually a recorded video clip. You can see the progress bar moving along the bottom.
Spielberg would have known at the time that audiences wouldn't have caught this, since nobody had much of a clue about computers waaaayyy back in '93. But as time has passed, and since the film has stuck around due to its greatness, most of us can see how this is something the audience wasn't meant to notice.
Was this too much of a dorky movie mistake? Mybad.
