The People of Sparks

City of Ember (2008) absolutely stole our hearts. We expected to see a very happy-go-lucky family film, but we got something much deeper, with elements that were much more profound than just an underground city.

Ember was based on the 2003 novel, and when the movie was made, the contract included the option for the sequel - The People of Sparks.

This film will focus on the survivors of Ember, and how they deal with life on the surface, and how they integrate with the other survivors of the city of Sparks.

We can definitely count on some creative costuming and production design, as we saw in the first film. We hope they use the same kids as the first also... there's nothing worse than seeing a sequel and it's all new actors. I'm cinema obsessed and VERY busy! I don't have time to get to know new characters.

Give me the old ones and get the story started!

No details yet on getting this follow-up novel to the silver screen, but being that we are obsessed, we already know the option is available to the studio. DOOOO IT!!!
