The Return of Pee-wee Herman!

Oh dear lord, you've answered our prayers. We love us a good comeback.

Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985) and Big Top Pee-wee (1988) are at the top of our list for favie childhood movies, and usually top the list for most popular cult classics. They were both gems that cinema obsessees everywhere enjoyed thoroughly, and have never forgotten.

But alas, we had all assumed the Pee-wee Herman dynasty had fallen... what with Paul Reuben's 1991 indescretion. Ahem, we won't get into that.

But there is joy on the horizon! Reubans has stated publicly, in recent years, that he has TWO fully written Pee-wee scripts, just waiting to be snatched up by a studio! Oh - Em - Gee. TWO!

He has described the first new story idea as a dark comedy, involving Pee-wee shooting to Hollywood fame and "becoming a big jerk." The second is a Pee-wee road trip movie, involving all the original Pee-wee's Playhouse characters joining Pee-wee on a voyage to Puppet-Land and leaving the Playhouse for the very first time.

There are some hilarious possiblities here. We can't WAIT to see new Pee-wee Herman material.

Reubans has said he's a little concerned about his age to play his legendary character, and has even spoken to Johnny Depp about taking on the role! HOLY CRAPPERS! You just KNOW this is the type of role Depp would be all over because... well... it's weird. Although it's sad to think of losing the original Pee-wee, we think Depp would absolutely nail it.
More details to come as we get 'em!
