Thor

Marvel Studios is rifling through the junk-drawer of movie ideas, and pulled out the dusty, predictable concept of another comic-book film.

Thor is planned for release in May 2012, and has been described as a "superhero origin film." Wow, cuz that hasn't been done to death at all.

There are good possibilities for special effects, we're just hoping there's a good story, and maybe SOMETHING that makes it a bit unique and different from all the other action-packed superhero films. We're routing for it!

Nathalie Portman is set to star as Jane Foster, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury (comic-book peeps know who these characters are, I assume). Australian soap-opera actor Chris Hemsworth will be playing Thor. (I know, I know... who??)

Doesn't he look like he should be modeling underwear, or frolicking through the autumn leaves in an American Eagle ad? Isn't Thor supposed to be tough and menacing?

We think this movie would be cool if shot like Sin City, or 300. Any thoughts? Any Thor fans out there have better casting choices?

Our vote for Thor would have gone to Mickey Rourke. Just because he's a badass.
