Mortal Kombat: Devastation

After spending over a decade in "development hell," it looks like a new Mortal Kombat movie is on the horizon!

You tricky filmmakers... you're so sly... wait until enough time has passed, and special effects are better, and release a 3rd film that will have enough hype to make you bazillionaires. Very wise.

After the first sequel, Annihilation, did poorly at the box office, the next film was put on hold. Scripts were re-written, and re-written, and re-written again. Also, one of their major shooting locations in New Orleans was completely destroyed by Hurricaine Katrina, which pushed back production even further.

But things are looking brighter now - Linden Ashby who played Johnny Cage, everyone's favourite Hollywood martial arts badass, has agreed to come back for the third film. Of course he agreed... what else is he doing?

Even Chris Casamassa, better known as Scorpion, will come back. Not like it matters, since nobody would know if he was replaced. Apparently New Line Cinema called and said "GET OVER HERE!"

Just for nostalgia's sake, let's curl up together and watch the kick-ass (pun intended) trailer for Mortal Kombat (1995).
