Adrien Brody messes with genetics in... Splice!

Adrien Brody's got a new film! No, not Predators, but another sci-fi flick called Splice, co-starring Sarah Polley.

Two young scientists (Brody and Polley) achieve fame by splicing human DNA with the DNA of different animals to create a new creature. In the process they ignore their society's ethical and legal boundaries. The scientists name their creature "Dren", which is initially a deformed female infant. However, it rapidly develops into a beautiful, but deadly winged human-chimera. (Wikipedia)

*Angie quickly googles chimera then returns* Hey, did you know a chimera in ancient Greek mythology was a monstrous fire-breathing creature of Lycia in Asia Minor, composed of the parts of multiple animals, or in the field of genetics it's an animal that has two or more different populations of genetically distinct cells that originated in different zygotes? So did I. Duh.

Anyway, this biyatch is sure to cause some scary shenanipoos. Check out the trailer, it actually looks quite intriguing, and Guillermo Del Toro is at the helm, so we know the creature effects will be great. I've been waiting a long time for a good chimera flick. FINALLY!
