Rise of the Planet of the Apes Teaser Gives Us... well, not a whole hell of a lot...

You'll barely get anything out of this teaser, but it's worth checking out anyway. The final shot gives us a good idea of the makeup effects in the new Apes movie, that is a prequel showing us how they went all crazy-like and took over.

An origin story set in present day San Francisco, where man's own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy. [IMDB]

And we've got a good cast to work with here including James "needs Visine" Franco, John "Trinity" Lithgow (Dexter reference, anyone?), Tom "don't call me Draco" Felton, Freida "Slumdog" Pinto, and Andy "precious" Serkis. Should be good, 'specially with Serkis on board, as he can do creature characters like nobody's biznass.

We loved T-Burt's version from 2001. Haters don't hate. It was fun, silly, and typical Burtonesque eye-candy when it came to the village.

This new one is being released in August, trying to make the most out of the summer movie-going crowd.

Anyway, at least the teaser tells you where you can watch the actual trailer.

UPDATE, better trailer!

From what I can see the make-up looks incredible! Love the anticipation for the release of this huge timeless classic. The casting is definitely interesting…
