Fraggle Rock: The Movie

"Dance your cares away, worry's for another day. Let the music play, down at Fraggle Rock."

Wooohooo!! It's official. The Weinstein Company will be distributing Fraggle Rock: The Movie! Production of the film is expected to start this year with a tentative release scheduled for 2011. Our favourite Fraggle friends are expected to return in a live action musical version of the popular 80s show created by Jim Henson.

Rumours are swirling that the plot will lead the Fraggles away from home, and into the human world, referred to as "Outer Space" by the Fraggles themselves. They will sing and dance with the silly creatures from outer space (a.k.a. humans) in this musical. It is also rumoured that there will be no CGI effects in the film...the Weinstein's are keepin' it real.

Cory Edwards is on board to write and direct the movie with Ahmet Zappa as executive producer. No word on who is set to star in the film, but be sure we will be on high alert for that casting call.

We just hope The Trash Heap makes an appearance. She was one wise pile of garbage...
