Shrek Madness!

So looking to the future a little (since a true cinema-obsessed person isn't satisfied with the present film world) we'd like to get you up to speed on the issue of... SHREK!

Now, we loved Shrek and Shrek 2, but Shrek the Third didn't quite do it for us. We're hoping these new developments are enough to round out the series on a high note, and solidify our opinion.

Yes that's right... new Shrek films are in the works!

First on the agenda is Shrek Forever After (to be released in 2010). People might have heard rumours of the former title, Shrek Goes Fourth, but that's gone out the window. And we enjoy the new title better. Enough with the numbers. We get it... they are sequels.

Anyhoos, Shrek Forever After has one special addition to the voice-cast that we feel with kick it up a notch better than Emeril. BAM! Paul McCartney as none other than... Rumpelstiltskin! We think this is the perfect character to throw into the mix of the Shrek-world. Should be interesting.

Basic plot outline for y'all is that the audience will learn how Shrek ended up in the swamp, Shrek loathes his new celebrity status in the land of Far Far Away, and Shrek AGAIN fights to save Fiona and his new family from some evil crap. Still intrigues us! Hey...don't you get it? We're cinema obsessed... we want to see everything!

And if you thought it ended there, you were a negative nelly. There's more. You've underestimated us.

Shrek 5 (without a clever working-title yet, but we're gonna submit Shrek Milks it for all it's Worth) is slotted for release in 2013. No word on plot or cast, but all we know is that filmmakers can't leave well enough alone. Suck the fairy-tale world dry until there ain't nothin' left. They have to keep cashing in until it's ruined.

But we digress...hey...we'll stay positive for now. We might like it. We say throw in some Little Mermaid action and we might be satisfied. Shrek Goes Under the Sea! Come on Dreamworks.. you know you waaannnaaa....
