Gunsmoke comes to the silver screen!

Gunsmoke the movie! Bring it on! It's time a new western was made to help us forget Wild Wild West.

Gunsmoke ran on television from 1955-1975, that's 20 seasons, making it the longest running television show in history... until it was beat out by The Simpsons.

CBS Films is bringing the series to life. It is rumoured to be a prequel that will explain the origins of all the classic characters in the town of Dodge City, Kansas.

Gregory Poirier, who penned National Treasure: Book of Secrets, will be taking on the screenplay.
