Blade Prequel is Totally Happening!

AHA! We were all jazzed for a new Blade film, and hoping Wesley "I heart tax evasion" Snipes would make a gigantor comeback.

Well, we were partly correct! Another Blade movie is fo sho in the works, this time focusing on the character of Frost (played by yummalicious Stephen Dorff), the baddie from the first Blade movie.

Stephen Norrington, director of the first film says “It will be a prequel to the ‘Blade’ movies, Deacon’s story."

Even the Dorffster said, “It’s a new trilogy the director has created. It will be cool. We hope to shoot the first film next year. Frost is a character I have never been able to shake.” Oooooh a new trilogy! As I say when I eat a BigMac... I'm lovin' it.

There's so much potential material here for good stories. Deacon Frost was born human and turned into a vampie later in life, so there's lots to show the audience when it comes to his human life, his transformation, and his descent into the deep, dark bowels of world domination and all around a-hole vampire territory.

Oh my god, he's like friggin' Anakin Skywalker crossing over to the dark side! "Blade... I am your father..." nahh wouldn't work.

This trilogy is a pretty smart idea since it will be another installment in an existing great series, using an actor that hasn't totally ruined his career yet. We knew they'd find a way to keep going with this! Not to mention, the Blade franchise was giving us hardcore vamps before vamps were cool. Now they're the hot ticket in Hollywood, so why not bring back a classic?

Let's take a moment and enjoy the Dorffy goodness from Blade (1998). He's such a baddie... he wears leather, smokes, and defies the elders. Now THAT's a VAMPIRE!

P.S. - Stephen... call me...
