New Three Musketeers!

Millenium Films is currently developing a new Three Musketeers movie! We're all for this!

Yes we're aware it was done in 1921, 1933, 1935, 1939, 1948, 1953, 1961, 1969, 1973, 1974, 1978, 1993, and SORT of done in The Man In The Iron Mask (1998). But there's always room for another adaptation! Everyone's remaking stuff, pumping out crap sequels, and adapting books into movies... why not do it with a classic story that's guaranteed to attract an audience? Cooomme on... peer pressure... everyone's doing it!

Producer Paul W. S. Anderson says they are "definitely modernizing ‘The Three Musketeers’ without compromising the fun of shooting a period piece. But in our film, corsets and feathered hats don’t take center stage. Our version is rich in eye-popping action, romance and adventure."

Nooo, don't take away the joys of a period piece! We heart corsets and big hair! Still, it sounds like he's got the right idea for this film, and they're even doing it in 3D... cuz that's the cool thing to do nowadays.

What's especially interesting is that the film will be an "origins" story of sorts, showing us how Athos, Porthos, Aramis and d'Artagnan came together to become Musketeers.

Apparently the filmmakers are already thinking WAAAYYY ahead into the future about a second and third film that will be a spin off of d'Artagnan's adventures. Sheeeeeshhh. Milk it, Hollywood, milk it!

We'll see them all anyway.

Now the fun part... WHO SHOULD PLAY THE FAMED MUSKETEERS?

As much as he's a cheeseball, we heart Brendan Fraser much too muchly... he could do it. We're also Javier Bardem supporters to the extreme... ooh ooooh also Dominic Cooper, and James Franco! Man this is a hard one to cast.

Do you have any ideas?
