Sherlock Holmes Promotions!

With the fast approach of Guy Richie's new film, Sherlock Holmes, the studio has released an interactive game! Now you can be the detective and unravel a mystery, solving clues and whatnot... whatever it is old-timey detectives do. The point of the game is that you are following a series of clues to solve some mystery that leads you up to the opening scene of the film.

It's actually a great idea... if they can get anyone to play it. If you play the game, I can see how you'd be much more tempted to see the movie!

Another kinda crackpotish idea is moving theatre seats. Like the kind in amusement parks that accompany a crazy action-packed 15 minute film, and you're rocked all over the place.

D-Box Technologies Inc. has ten theatres across North America equipped with their special seats, so for an even more expensive movie ticket you can shake rattle and roll with Sherlock Holmes.

This is all well and good, but we're surprised this feature is accompanying a movie like this. Yes we know it's being advertised as an action film, and no doubt it will be entertaining, but come on... Sherlock is a period piece... so what's gonna happen? The seats are gonna rock around during the high speed carriage chase? I don't quite get it.

These seats should be paired with movies featuring alien invasions, car chases, exploding things, laser battles, dinosaur stampedes, etc. N'est pas?
