Dead Bodies For Sale! Burke and Hare are Comin' to Town!

We've been tellin' Hollywood to smarten up for a while now and give us a totally orig plot. Well Hollywood listened. Burke and Hare is the true story of two seriously effed up Irish dudes who... well... here's the synopsis:

Based on the true story about the famous murderers, 'Burke And Hare' follows the hapless exploits of these two men as they fall into the highly profitable business of providing cadavers for the medical fraternity in Nineteenth Century Edinburgh, then the centre of medical learning. The one thing they were short of was bodies. IMDB

Wait.... damnit! So upon further investigation, this is actually a remake of a 1972 film. Ok, not TOTALLY original since it's been done before, and it's based on a true story, but hey - it's better than being based on a book, video game, tv show, board game, toy, comic book, or website, as we've seen far too often lately.

Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis, Isla Fisher, Tom Wilkinson and, get ready for it... TIM CURRY will star in this black comedy directed by John Landis. Tim Curry. Exsqueeze me?! Ya, we're in. For sheeeez!

Here's a pic of Pegg as William Burke and Serkis as William Hare. This should be good. Just look at their outfits! We're suckers for a period piece!

UK release is 2010, so we're not entirely sure we'll see this flick in North America this year.

Can't wait for this. I'm hoping it's a return to form for John Landis. Is it being released in the UK first then? I'll be sure to let you know what I think as soon as it comes out here! ;)

Read the script back in 2009. It's quite good: funny and very dark.

Oh My.
Big fan of Simon Pegg.
Loved Tom in The Full Monty.
and...you had me at Tim Curry.

Period pieces have always been in my tops, for I too love the costumes and such.
