"Skyline" Increases My Fears of Alien Invasion (but secretly I love it)

Oh. Sweet. Jesus. Remember how Chanty hearts the end of the world? Well she's gonna love this puppy right here. And by puppy I mean shit-inducing alien flick that's coming this November.

After a late night party, a group of friends are awoken in the dead of the night by an eerie light beaming through the window. Like moths to a flame, the light source is drawing people outside before they suddenly vanish into the air. They soon discover an otherwordly force is swallowing the entire human population off the face of the earth. Now our band of survivors must fight for their lives as the world unravels around them. [IMDB]

It was a total hoot showing this teaser to Chantale. I watched her go through the gambit of emotion. First excitement at the alien spacecrafts... then horror and wide eyes, then gasping and hands over her mouth, then as the trailer drew to a close, a shriek -- "It's PEEEOOOPPLE!"

The film stars Eric Balfour (known best by us from Six Feet Under), Scottie Thompson (from a bunch of TV shows we don't watch), David Zayas (some guy who looks like Jon Favreau), and a bunch of other people I don't know. But that doesn't bother me. It adds to the believability factor.

Anyways, watch this and tell me if you squirm.

See, these aliens are smarter than the ones in Signs. They are actually sucking us up in their spaceships...

There hasn't been a good alien movie in so long unless you count the fourth kind or whatever it was called.

This movie looks epic. It could only be improved by adding Jeff Goldblum because as everyone knows he is our only hope in case of an alien attack. These fools ain't got a hope in hell without him.

Emily - Couldn't agree more. Jeff's deductive reasoning is our only hope should an alien invasion occur.
