Kirsten Dunst in Melancholia

Controversial filmmaker Lars Von Trier is bringing us a new drama that has totally peaked my interest. Check out the synops:

Two sisters find their relationship challenged as a nearby planet threatens to collide into the Earth. [IMDB]

Wow. It sounds like a super drama mixed with a Jerry Bruckheimer movie. Although it sounds totally bizarre, I think it will be an interesting take on the apocalyptic genre, focusing more on the human side of things, how relationships would evolve knowing it's the end, etc etc insert deep thoughts here.

It also stars Charlotte Gainsburg, Kiefer Sutherland, John Hurt, and both Stellan and Alexander Skarsgard (yummm).

Conspiracy theorists who are all about the Planet Nibiru theory are probably all up in a huff over this, as their lunatic ravings are now part of mainstream film. And since I'm gullible as all hell, I probably won't sleep well after seeing this.

Oh well, check out the trailer. What do you think? Too weird? Good concept?

I'll watch it.
It be interesting to compare to Last Night, although this maybe more on the artsy dramatic side.
