Exceptional Escape: 2012

This has to be one of the best (in a truly awful way) escape scenes EVER! When we first watched the trailer for 2012 (2009) we simultaneously dropped a load in our pants. We were terrified.

Although we love apocalyptic shite, we thought we might need psychiatric help if we watched this movie. We skipped it in theaters, mostly due to our fear of defecating in public, and opted to rent it months later. Instead of caccing, we were cackling! We laughed for 2 hours and 38 minutes.

This scene was the most memorable of the entire movie. Watch John Cusack drive his family to safety by dodging explosions, collapsing highways and falling cars. He drives them through a building that's in the process of collapsing for EFF-SAKES!

Cusack saves the day... again... and again... and again. They escape without so much as a scratch, over and over. The earth's crust is literally falling away behind the vehicle. We immediately started referencing The Langoliers (1995). If you get the reference, let us just say: Welcome to the Cin-Ob fam!

HA! We watched it on uh....internet download....and laughed our asses off too. Ridiculous. And I believe I said "Wow, it's like the Langoliers times a thousand!" when the plane was taking off as the runway exploded. So yay. For the record, the Langoliers is kind of creepy for a TV movie, no? Well done Stephen King.

The same concept is also apparent in Independence Day when the president escapes in Air Force One...

HMMM and it's from the same director...he needs to be more creative!
