Exceptional Escape: The Fifth Element

I don't think I could love a movie more than I love The Fifth Element. It has everything my Cin-Ob heart could ever want - aliens, fights, singing blue divas, flying cars, Bruce Willis, cruise ships that fly, etc.

This scene was always a favie of mine, in which Korben meets Leeloo for the first time, and decides to help her go on the run. The music that accompanies this Exceptional Escape is awesome, pay attention to that too.

Anyways the cops are after then in this wild ride through futuristic New York City and you get to see tons of fun sci-fi stuff - cars, buildings, and even McDonalds. I always liked the idea of people living at certain levels. Why do they always do that in sci-fi? Regardless, it's cool how they escape into the foggy under-layers of the city which seem to have succumb to some unknown disaster.. and the peeps of the future live above. Love it! Ok, I'm a dork. Whatever, that's ok.

Exceptional Escape: Eclipse

I think this might be the first time we're showing you an Exceptional Escape where it's the bad guy escaping. Or in this case, the bad girl. Damn you Victoria... don't mess with the Cullens or you'll get burned. Or torn into pieces, whatever. This was the first time in the series that the vamps' speed was portrayed properly. The other times it just looked stupid. This time they actually look hardcore fast and superhuman... haters shut up.

Watch the Cullen clan chase firecrotch Victoria through the ravine and the forrest, and spoiler - she gets away. This time, Vic. Only this time.

Exceptional Escape: The Blues Brothers

This post is dedicated to this week's Cin-Ob Supreme Alexandra from FilmForager! Congrats Alex! Here's what we've cooked up for you:

This classic 1980 SNL spinoff comedy is uber-fantastical! Yup. It sure is. This is one of my favie scenes in the movie. Jake and Elwood are on a mission from God and they mean business. This Exceptional Escape involves the bros, the cops, and the total destruction of a shopping mall!

Watch as the chase escalates beyond belief. Pier 1 Imports, along with other vendors and stores, are completely obliterated as the boys make their escape! It's magnificent! Just watch!

Exceptional Escape: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

The fact that this escape begins with Henry and Indiana hopping into a plane attached to a blimp and then flying away, makes it truly exceptional! Father and son are dodgin' bullets, bombs and German fighter planes as they run for their lives.

As always though, Indiana has a cool, calm attitude the entire time. Sean Connery ain't no bump on a log though - daddy pulls out a 'lil trick of his own to end the chase!

Fun fact: There is a 12 year age difference between this 'father-son' couple!

Exceptional Escape: Innerspace

You go Jack Putter! You get your arse outta that ice truck and show the world you are NOT a pipshit! You are just as slick as The Cowboy and just as charming as Lt. Tuck Pendleton. Betcha Tuck couldn't 'a pulled that one off. The Cowboy's a pansy ass. Good for you Putter. Your Exceptional Escape will go down in history.

Exceptional Escape: 2012

This has to be one of the best (in a truly awful way) escape scenes EVER! When we first watched the trailer for 2012 (2009) we simultaneously dropped a load in our pants. We were terrified.

Although we love apocalyptic shite, we thought we might need psychiatric help if we watched this movie. We skipped it in theaters, mostly due to our fear of defecating in public, and opted to rent it months later. Instead of caccing, we were cackling! We laughed for 2 hours and 38 minutes.

This scene was the most memorable of the entire movie. Watch John Cusack drive his family to safety by dodging explosions, collapsing highways and falling cars. He drives them through a building that's in the process of collapsing for EFF-SAKES!

Cusack saves the day... again... and again... and again. They escape without so much as a scratch, over and over. The earth's crust is literally falling away behind the vehicle. We immediately started referencing The Langoliers (1995). If you get the reference, let us just say: Welcome to the Cin-Ob fam!

Exceptional Escape: Aeon Flux

Go Charlize and Hands-for-Feet chick! You're gonna make it!
That is the most hostile lawn we've ever seen. If that were our lawn, we'd be like "Yo lawn... who do you think you are, pointing at me with your sharp, asshole blades of grass? Back the fuck off."

Oops I said fuck. OH crap I said it again.

Exceptional Escape: Independence Day

Granted, everyone doesn't quite escape this giant fireball, but some do. Go Vivica Fox! What a heroine. AND she saves a dog in the process. Love her!

Exceptional Escape: Aladdin

The Cave of Wonders is a truly magical place... but they really need to redesign the exits... geeeeez...

Exceptional Escape: Starship Troopers

Another Exceptional Escape! This time it's from slimy, brain-sucking giant alien bugs. We especially love how Denise Richards strolls away after having her shoulder torn to shreds. We're guessing that futuristic soldiers are naturally tough and fast-healing. *Chantale and Angie look each other with major shifty eyes, then giggle about how much of a D-Bag 'ol Richards is*
